Yankees expect Mark Teixeira to miss 8-10 weeks

Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will be out 8-10 weeks after straining his right wrist Tuesday, according to manager Joe Girardi.
Teixeira strained his right forearm while taking swings off a tee in the batting cage during a U.S. team practice Tuesday in preparation for the World Baseball Classic. He soon withdrew from the tournament.
Teixeira was scheduled to be evaluated further Wednesday by Yankees physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad and Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser.

LikeThere is a look at their future in this for teams like the Angels, Dodgers and Tigers who are busily signing older players to huge multi-year deals. The Yankees have spent about two BILLION in payroll to win one World Series in 12 years.
