Kevin Millar, who last played Major League Baseball as a first baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009, might see his younger brother take over the reigns as PA announcer for the Boston Red Sox.
Millar, now an analyst with MLB Network, has a younger brother, Jensen, who is one of the finalists to replace the late Carl Beane, who was killed in a car accident in May 2012. Jensen’s connection to his brother no doubt helps his situation; Kevin played for the Red Sox from 2003-05 and was a part of the team during their historic run to a World Series championship in ’04.
The Sox tweeted a pic of Jensen “holding down the PA mic” at Boston’s spring training game on Wednesday in Ft. Myers, Fla against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Maureen Mullen, Red Sox beat reporter for CSSNE.com, also took to Twitter to shed some light on Jensen and his prospect as Boston’s next voice.
