After seven years as coach of Team USA, Mike Krzyzewski said he will not return for the 2014 world championships in Madrid, reports ESPN.

“I’ve loved, loved, loved, and it’s been an honor being with the USA Basketball team,” Krzyzewski said in an interview with ESPN Radio’s “Mike and Mike in the Morning.” ”And to coach the team and work with (chairman and president Jerry Colangelo) for seven years has been marvelous.”

“We’re in a good spot,” Krzyzewski added. “We need to keep building.”

Under Krzyzewski, the team won gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and also won the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. USA Basketball will likely name a successor this summer.

good chice but I doubt he'd do it.  Give up his summer for atleast the next four years after long playoff runs with the Spurs at his age.  doubt it.  Probably Doc he's younger and more likely to give up the time

wizzla761 Doc would be a strong choice, no question. Strong coach, great teacher, and what he's doing with the Celtics this year is remarkable.
