The Oakland Raiders will try to restructure quarterback Carson Palmer‘s contract, reports ESPN.com.

Palmer, 33, is scheduled to make $13 million next season and $15 million each in 2014, 2015 and 2016 as part of a four-year, $43 million contract he signed in 2011. The last two years of the deal can be voided.

The Raiders traded for Palmer during the 2011 season and sent a 2012 first-round draft pick and a second-round selection in the 2013 draft to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals used the 2012 first-round pick to select cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.

Palmer threw for 4,018 yards with 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions last season for the Raiders.

Uh, why not "restructure" it to $0 and go away?  Carson Palmer brings nothing to the table, and the Raiders will suck in 2013 whether he's on the "team" or not.  Raider Nation?  WTF is that?  A "Nation" where losing is accepted and glorified?

Carson is the man! He will have a great year in 2013, mark my words. He is a team player who did not hesitate to restructure his contract last year, he will do so again because it is not ALL about the money with Carson. He has heart, tenacity and toughness that are the hallmark of all great Raider Quarterbacks, plus the gunslinger mentality of Rich Gannon, Ken Stabler, Jeff Hostetler and Daryl Lamonica.  I know....I watched all of them play and Carson is poured from the same mold. Go Raiders!
