Rutgers tight end D.C. Jefferson injured at NFL combine

D.C. Jefferson bench pressed 225 pounds three times on Friday at the NFL combine. Word spread through the combine that the tight end only did three repetitions, and shortly after that came reports that he was at the hospital having his pectoral muscles examined. Jefferson, a projected late-round pick, may have torn the muscle.
Jefferson’s agent, Andy Simms, told USA Today Sports that Jefferson had been benching 225 pounds more than 20 times during training. Something went wrong during his second repetition on Friday and abruptly ended Jefferson’s benching.

Why did Rutgers TE D.C. Jefferson bench 225 just 3 times? @andysimms told me he may have torn his pec muscle. At hospital being examined—

The thought is that TE D.C. Jefferson injured his pectoral muscle on his second rep at 225. Usually reps about 20 at 225 LBs.—
