RGIII says he won’t compromise career to play Week 1
Griffin took to Twitter on Tuesday to tell his more than 800,000 followers the news as he and his ad sponsor Adidas are putting together a campaign around the slogan “All in for Week 1.”
Griffin had constructive knee surgery last month after he was injured late in the Redskins’ 24-14 home wild-card playoff loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
”Feel like I need to say this..Although my goal is to start Week 1, that doesn’t mean I will compromise my career to do so,” Griffin wrote, via NFL.com. “Starting Week 1 will be the result of healing, hard work, dedication & God’s anointing. No rush. just determination.”
Griffin, the AP’s NFL Rookie of the Year, threw for 3,200 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions last season.
