The Minnesota Vikings were basically a one-dimensional team when wide receiver Percy Harvin was injured in November and missed the rest of the season because of an ankle injury.

Harvin has been the subject of trade rumors but if it was left up to Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, he would be more than happy to have Harvin back on the team next season. Harvin reportedly said he will holdout if he doesn’t get a new contract.

“Obviously we want Percy back,” Ponder said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “He’s a tremendous player and he’s a Viking. And those are tough shoes to fill and we don’t want to fill them. He’s a heck of a player and a heck of a part of this offense and this team in general. Of course we want him back.”

Harvin, who had 62 receptions for 677 yards and three touchdowns last season, is scheduled to make $2.9 million in the final season of his contract.
