NBA All-Star Game ratings up 13 percent

TNT’s presentation of last night’s NBA All-Star Game was watched by eight million viewers, a 13 percent increase over last year’s telecast, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

Last year’s game, which was held in Orlando, Fla., was seen by 7.1 million viewers, according to the report. This year’s game garnered the highest ratings in Miami, San Antonio, Memphis, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma City.

The game was played at the Toyota Center in Houston and won by the Western Conference 143-138 behind 20 points and 15 assists by Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul, who took away MVP honors. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant led all scorers with 30 points. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony led the East squad with 26 points and 12 rebounds.
