NFL to add second aptitude test to combine
The National Football League will add a second aptitude test to its battery of examinations of prospective draftees this week, according to a report from Albert Breer at NFL.com.
According to the report, the new test will not replace the Wonderlic test, which was created in the 1930s and has been used to scout the mental acumen of players since being introduced by former Cowboys coach Tom Landry in the 1970s.
Little is known about the content of the test or what it will actually measure, but National Football Scouting president Jeff Foster told Breer that the new test had been developed in conjunction with a University professor, specifically for the NFL.
The 2013 NFL scouting combine begins on Wednesday, February 20th and runs until Tuesday the 26th.
