Vikings to play two seasons outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium
The Minnesota Vikings will play the 2014 and 2015 season outdoors at the University of Minensota’s TCF Bank Stadium, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star- Tribune.
The Vikings will occupy the Gophers’ stadium while the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is demolished and a new stadium is built in its place. The Vikings have played in the Metrodome since its opening in 1982, sharing the space with the MLB Minnesota Twins until Target Field was built in 2009.
The Vikings have played one solitary home game outdoors since the building of the Dome, when the took on the Chicago Bears at TCF Bank Stadium in 2010 after a blizzards collapsed the roof of the Metrodome.
