The Golden State Warriors will be the first modern NBA team to break with the most traditional of basketball fashions. The team unveiled a short-sleeved alternate jersey Monday, with pictures of the garment appearing in the San Jose Mercury-News.

The jersey, designed in conjunction with Adidas, is made of ultra lightweight fabric, and features distinctive (for basketball) short sleeves instead of the traditional tank top. While t-shirt jersey designs have been rejected in the past because of their interference with a players’ shooting stroke, these jerseys feature compression sleeves that do not impede the range of motion of the players’ arms.

The Warriors will debut the new jerseys on February 22nd in a home game against the San Antonio Spurs, a game which will be broadcast on ESPN.

According to the Mercury-News, the Warriors tested the jerseys in preseason and have completed full practices in them as well.
