Report: Michael Vick is staying with the Eagles

Jay Glazer reports that the Eagles have worked out a restructured contract with QB Michael Vick.

After a miserable 4-12 season, it seemed likely that the Eagles would part ways with the starting QB. Vick came into the 2012 season week one as a starter, despite a strong preseason presence from rookie Nick Foles.

Back in August of 2011, Vick and the Eagles signed a six-year, $100 million contract worth nearly $40 million in guaranteed money. Following Vick’s poor 2012 performance, it was unclear what the team would do with the pricey QB. But Vick has wanted to play under newly hired head coach Chip Kelly since December, and indicated that he would be willing to take a pay cut to stay.

Vick received a three-year deal, but the last two years will be voided on March 15.

well im out for another season.  Unless you are using this contract to trade vick, you are not starting out well with the philly fanbase.  Even the owner came out and said he wasnt all for the vick signing, why is he coming back.  His past troubles aside, it is very hard to be a vick supporter.

wow 1 year reported huh. why would you even do that? sounds like Chip is just gonna ride him while grooming another qb for the position.

@l.czolgosz66 ... Great success. Ok if your satisfied with a wild card exit and two straight season w/o playoff appearance.
