The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of terrible season, with criticism of the team coming from all sides. Now the criticism is coming from one of the franchises’ greatest ever players.

On his Twitter account Friday, former Lakers point guard and current ESPN NBA analyst Earvin “Magic” Johnson lambasted his former team, saying he was “embarrassed” by their performance in a 116-95 loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday night.

In one tweet, which went over the 140 character limit and appeared in full on a long tweet site, Johnson said :

Not sure if I was embarrassed for this Lakers team or embarrassed to be a former Laker, because of how they played against our rivals the Celtics last night.

He followed that up with a suggestion for Lakers owner Jim Buss:

And lastly, a word of congratulations for Kevin Garnett, the go-to-guy for one of the Lakers’ biggest historical rivals :

As of Friday, the Lakers own a  23-27 record and sit 3.5 games back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

If you were old enough to know; the best point guard ever was Oscar Robertsson " the Big O." That being said teams go through down periods. This is a down period for the Lakers. They and Boston are old teams. The difference being the Lakers are a new old team, one that has not played together, where the Celtics core KG Pierce Bradley & Rondo before he got hurt have played together. The Lakers need some young talent to infuse with Kobe and company.

Magic should mind his own F-ing business.  Or what? Did he forget already about when he was Tragic Magic? Did he forget already when he became a "coach"? As a player, I think he's one of the best PGs in history.  As an "expert" he's just another loud mouth that things just because he's a legend, his former team should do what ever he says... He had bad games with his Lakers back in the day, so he should just shut his mouth and support the team... Yes Magic, I'm embarrass too that you're a former Laker because you're not showing any class
