Report: Celtics meet with Greg Oden
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said on Saturday that the team met with free-agent Greg Oden as the oft-injured center makes plans to attempt a comeback, reports ESPN.com.
Oden, who was the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, is expected to make a decision about who he is going to play for in the next couple of weeks.
Oden would not play until next season. Oden, 25, has only played in a total of 82 games in his career because of knee injuries and averaged 9.2 points and 7.3 rebounds a game.
The report says that the San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks have been watching Oden’s rehab progress.
