Five eliminated from Hall of Fame consideration
Eight hours of Hall of Fame deliberation among 46 voters concluded late on Saturday afternoon, with the finalists for the Hall of Fame trimmed down to ten. Eliminated during the voting was Art Modell, Eddie DeBartolo Jr., Kevin Greene, Tim Brown and Will Shields.
The ten finalists in the Hall of Fame class include Bill Parcells, Michael Strahan, Jonathan Ogden, Jerome Bettis, Cris Carter, Andre Reed and Charles Haley.
The deliberation started at 8 a.m. and continued until 4 p.m. The longest debate was for Parcells, lasting 55 minutes. Only seven candidates can get in, including two senior finalists.
