49ers cornerback Chris Culliver will participate in sensitivity training and work with LGBT youth after the Super Bowl, per Culliver’s publicist.

The second-year player made homophobic remarks during the Super Bowl media day, when asked how he would feel about having a gay teammate. He later apologized for his comments, and now will add volunteer work and sensitivity training to his penance.

Culliver will work with “The Trevor Project,” an organization that offers crisis and suicide intervention for LGBT youth.

Theodore Palmer, Culliver’s public relations representative, said the sensitivity training will help Culliver understand the impact of his words and opinions.

“It’s just an opportunity for him to learn about his comments and educate himself about the LGBT community, and grow,” Palmer said. “It’s the first step in learning about his words.”

Homosexuality is a choice people make. Until recently it had been regarded as deviant and perverted behavior.

People can leave it and have. It is NOT a minority status as minorities don't choose their situation. The word of God condemns it. And it used to be a criminal behavior in our society. Our society has warped into thinking people who stand with our founding fathers and our heavenly Father are the ones who need help.  May God help us to return to Him.
