Adrian Peterson on NFL MVP: “I’m going to win it.”

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is feeling confident. So confident, in fact, that he has predicted he will win the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award nearly one week before it is due to be given out.
Speaking to the Denver Post while in Honolulu for the Pro Bowl, Peterson said “I’m going to win it. I will get it,” when asked about his chances for winning the award.
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had previously poked fun at Peterson’s proclamation, reportedly telling a gathering of NFL players and executives “Everyone should play like Adrian Peterson. The guy does everything full speed. The Pro Bowl. Promoting himself for MVP.” The quip received many laughs, including from Peterson himself.
Peterson rushed for 2,097 yards in the 2012-2013 season, less than a year after suffering a devastating injury to his knee. The total is just nine yards shy of the all-time NFL rushing record.

He'll get comeback player of the year. MVP will go to Manning. He had a great year and led his team to the division and a biggest win streak. I wouldn't mind a co-comback player and a co-MVP for Manning and Peterson

LikeIn pass-heavy league, Peterson is head and shoulders above the rest. He should win it!

LikeHe probably will win it, though. Most media pundits I've seen polled have ADP selected.
Manning deserves it too, but if a running-back can't win it after the season ADP just had, we might as well just make the award officially QB-only and dispense with any illusion otherwise.

LikeWell put. RB comes within 9 yds of record and makes Ponder a playoff QB. If not now when.
