That is what cheaters and dirty players do. They have little to no skills so they make a name for themselves causing injury. The whole Ravens team is guilty of that though Look at Suggs, Lewis the list goes on and on.....

Pollard is risking his own cerebral health with these hits. Ask Junior Seau if he would have chosen to bring his head up more on his hits to opposing players.....oh, that's right, he had brain damage and committed suicide

That's a little bit more than Frank Gore got fined for not pulling up his socks!  

Nobody but Beantown fans feels sorry for that arrogant Brady/Belichek spygate team. Pollard may be over the line but  kocking out Brady, Welker and Gronk for the years past and present will not bring any tears to Patriot opponents.

These helmet-to-helmet rules remind me a bit of the government's attempts at outlawing assault weapons - they have an idea what they want to do, but they can't come up with a usable definition for it. 

In the past, there have been some vicious "kill shots" delivered by guys using the crown of their helmet as a weapon.  I'm happy that the league is trying to stop that.  But, guys' helmets touch all the time.  If the offensive guy ducks his head, it's nearly impossible to tackle a him WITHOUT helmets touching.  There has to be some revision of these rules, but getting a clear definition for the refs to use is tough.

One improvement would to differentiate between the crown of the helmet and the side.  Another would be to to exempt the hit frpm penalty if the offensive guy's helmet is at shoulder-level or lower.

Course, the league will likely leave the rules as they are.  They couldn't care less about fairness or safety.  They want to generate max $$$ and shield themselves from lawsuit.  Rules that protect offensive players, even ridiculous rules, work towards both of those goals.  

He should have kicked him in the nuts.  It would have been $5250 cheaper!

Bernard Pollard is a dirty player and trys his level best to hurt guys to take them out of the game. I'm from KC and he was like that here too. His hit on Brady was deliberate as was the one on Gronk last year. And  to correct Mr Boisvert, helmet to helmet is not legal at any time.

I will answer Mr Martin's comments. The extra $250 you speak of was just compensation for generally being a dirtty player. I am from KC and nobody here liked him when he played here. He goes out to intentionally hurt guys to the point of threatening their careers. Pollard is a low life and should be thrown out of the league.
