Patriots quarterback Tom Brady fined $10,000 for kick
The NFL fined New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady $10,000 on Wednesday for unnecessary roughness for his aggressive slide towards Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed, reports NFL.com.
Brady was trying to run for a first down when he slid and made contact with Reed’s thigh in the second quarter of the Patriots’ 28-13 loss to the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. Brady was not penalized on the play.
Reed said Brady later apologized via text message.
“You know, I understand Brady’s point,” Reed told WJF-FX, via NFL.com. “Him protecting himself. I know he’s a great player. I respect Brady and his game for all it stands for, and I know he’s not a dirty player. And emotions get going in the game.
“I told him — you know, we talked. We talked actually not too long ago, we talked on the phone. He actually reached out to me, texted me. I tried to text him back, but the message exploded after 12 seconds, so I had to call him … and he’s just apologized and what not. But I told him, ‘You know, it’s good, man.’”

Like$10K???? Are you kidding??? He was trying to take out an opposing player!!
Frank Gore got fined $10.5K for wearing socks that were "too short!" Apparently an apparel offense is more serious to the NFL than trying to hurt another player!!If this was anyone other than one of the league's pet QB/poster boys, this fine would have been far more, probably including a suspension!
