After months of speculation, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton has been traded to the Atlanta Braves, pending a physical, according to tweets Thursday morning from Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

According to the report from CBS Sports, the Braves will also get third baseman Chris Johnson. The Diamondbacks will receive third baseman/outfielder Martin Prado, starting pitcher Randall Delgado, minor-league shortstop Nick Ahmed, minor-league pitcher Zeke Spruill and minor-league infielder Brandon Drury.

Last season for the Diamondbacks, Upton, a 25-year-old All Star, hit .280/.355/.430, recording 17 home runs and 67 RBI. He also had 107 runs and 18 stolen bases. In 2011, Upton finished fourth in NL MVP voting, playing a key role in leading Arizona to an NL West title.

Delgado, 22, went 4-9 with an ERA of 4.37, 1.41 WHIP and recorded 76 strikeouts in 92 2/3 innings last season with the Braves.

The Braves will now feature an outfield of brothers, as Justin joins B.J., who signed a  five-year, $75 million deal with Atlanta earlier in the offseason.

I hate this move.   We already have to adjust to the team without Chipper Jones and now we have to do without Prado too.  He is a solid player and well loved by both fans and teammates.  I wish they had given more thought to the fans before they put Prado in the mix

Braves get an outstanding player and a solid player. The Diamondbacks bet an outstanding player and a solid starting pitcher. Neither fanbase has much to complain about.

Prado play the game in the right way, Upton just play the game

I loved Prado, but this move totally makes sense and strengthens the team throughout. Delgado has been given ample opportunities to prove he's a major league starter, but while his stuff is good, he just doesn't look like he the mental toughness to make it at the big league level.

Why in the hell did we give up prado!!!!! Do not like that part of the deal. Prado was an excellent club house leader and worked hard not to mention could play almost anywere. He is very valuable and i would rather have him over upton. Looks like Wren plans on Francisco playing third also not thrilled. I like that we got Justin Upton but the cost was way to much.

dbenear1985 Not too much considering we couldn't sign him long term.  The Braves and Prado were millions off in perceived value.  Consider that we'd probably only have him this season before he filed for FA.  Does the deal look sweeter?  I love Prado like any other Braves fan.  Total gamer and incredibly talented, but the Upton brothers along with Heyward trolling the OF in Atl?  Oh yes.  Worth it.  Worth it twice.

Yeah I understand it was gonna be tough to resign Prado, and we get Upton for 3 years. That does make it easier to take losing Prado. Prado played where ever he was told and didnt complain and overall just a great team player. The guy worked his butt off changed positions went to winter ball to become better. He put up solid numbers. I think he deserves to get paid. He is a class act and ATL will miss the leadership. The deal was worth it just tough to lose prado.

In no way shape or form am I a Braves fan. As a Giants fan, that lineup is downright scary. Best OF in the majors?

RJ4 Defensive or Offensive? I would probably take the Angels
