Kobe Bryant directly asked Dwight Howard if he disliked playing with him during an emotional Lakers team meeting Wednesday, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

“Guys went at each other a little bit,” said a witness to the meeting prior to Wednesday morning’s shoot-around.

Coach Mike D’Antoni began the meeting by telling the team he was tired of reading newspaper stories in which players questioned his offense. Bryant and Howard both were quoted criticizing the offense after the team’s 95-83 loss Monday in Chicago. Howard said he was unhappy taking just five shots in the game.

When D’Antoni asked players to speak up, Steve Nash, who led D’Antoni’s offense for four seasons in Phoenix, said he didn’t care which offense the team used so long as everyone was comfortable.

Bryant then acknowledged that he could be “hard to play with” before asking Howard if that bothered him. A person who witnessed the meeting said Howard’s answer was unclear, but that “He didn’t go back at Kobe.”

Later at the shoot-around, Howard told reporters he was sorry for complaining about his number of touches and took responsibility for his play.

“It starts with me,” Howard said. “I have to be more of a player out there on the court and not worry about anything, not complain. Just do what I do best.”

Kobe is still the same selfish gunner he has always been.

Dwight is passive-aggressive and will never be the guy to LEAD a team to a championship.

D'Antoni is a mediocre coach who has never won anything and cannot adapt.

This team is not going anywhere.  At least two of these guys needs to go.

D12 will be gone by the end of the year or during the off season. He's like a little boy and when he isnt getting along with someone (Kobe) he will never stop thinking about it and will never be happy. Orlando showed the league how good Dwight can be and the Lakers have shown how much of a whiner he is. No way they make the playoffs this year and no way D12 will be back next year.  Its a lost year for Dwight just when he should have been really entering his prime , cant say I feel sorry for him.

D'antoni needs to fit his offense to his personel. Jackson's triangle won 10 titles with 2 strong post up players & to trade one of them to accommodate an offense that requires no post players is insane.

D'antoni never talked to Melo when he was here and it exploded. Mike needs to talk to this players instead of sulking, benching them, or giving them the silent treatment.

Does the word team mean anything anymore ? These guys are professionals are they not , then let us play like pros and forget about egos just do what you each do best and learn that trust in each others abilities is all that matters especially when you begin to win again.

If my lakers really want to succeed then, D.Howard must stop complaining and do what he does best, Kobe must take wise shots and pass the ball up when he knows he's having an off day, Nash must be more aggressive and remember he's the PG he runs the show, Metta World Peace should play very aggressive defense and make the opposing team commit turnovers, and Gasol needs to stop shooting so many three's, he should do most of his damage from the Mid-Range game! If the really want to succeed they need to play a bit of there own game and sacrifice themselves to make others around them better!

Dwight, it's time for an epiphany. Unlike Shaq who quarreled with Kobe while winning a three-peat, you haven't proven anything yet. Win a title and perhaps, you could drive Kobe out of La La Land.

Dwight's avg. is 17/12, I believe. so him and #24 are doing their job. coach is having a 7 footer on the perimeter, and now benching him! as I posted minutes ago, d'ananal was not the right hire for our roster!!!

Kobe used to be clutch player who took lot of shots, but now he is just a player who doesn't know how to share in a team spo, makes lots of turn overs and shots of his month even more.  The lakers have a great team but they need to do is get rid of cancer tht is the team Kobe and trade him to a team who likes a shelfish loud mouth player.  He just doesn't want to change.

Kobe is a winner and as such, he can be a hard ass.  Dwiight is a complainer, he's goofy and he wants to be important.  Dwight if you want to win shut up and play basketball.  I don't care if you don't like your mother.  Keep winning but remember you're old.
