Ravens safety Ed Reed said Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has apologized for sliding with his cleats up during the AFC Championship Game, via ESPNBoston.com.

Reed said during a WJZ radio interview that Brady texted him after the game before the two talked on the phone.

Reed’s teammate, Bernard Pollard, has been very vocal in claiming Brady’s dirty play was intentional and calling on the NFL to investigate the play. The NFL announced that it was reviewing the play Tuesday.

“We talked actually not too long ago, we talked on the phone. He actually reached out to me, texted me,” Reed said, via ESPNBoston.com. “I tried to text him back, but the message exploded after 12 seconds, so I had to call him … and he’s just apologized and what not. But I told him, ‘You know, it’s good, man.’”

Reed said that he doesn’t think Brady is a dirty player and credited the quarterback’s reaction to the fact that “emotions get going in the game.”

Cool on both players. I am sure Reed is not afraid of Brady but he accepted the apology. Brady manned up, will pay his 10,000 and go on about his bidness. Reed will be a better player for acting like a gentleman.

Good for TB, he owned his, but the fact is that was a dirty play. Uncalled for, and if Reed's foot was planted we would be talking about a blown out knee and missed Super Bowl, perhaps a career ended. Brady needs to be held to account for his actions, apology or not. Just like every other player in the league.

I really can't stand Tom Brady, but he apologized for it. Reed accepted it. Can we move on now?

Everyone can say what they think about the whining Patriots, somewhat agree, but the biggest crybaby I've seen in years heads up the Ravens team, coach Harbagger! Sad becasue the team overall are made up of tough players who play their hearts out every game!

jioriothe 3 biggest babies in all of sports are Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Bart Scott...all 3 spent YEARS whining about a legal hit from Hines Ward throwing a block...

Agreed! Patriots are huge whine bags. Apparently, so are their spouses. It is hard to say if Brady kicked him maliciously, or if it was a cheap attempt to protect himself from a hit. Either way - the pansy doesn't need to be playing pro football if he's afraid of being hit. I was appalled a call wasn't made.

I've watched that play over and over until I wore it out.  I'm convinced of 2 things which are:

    01) he did do it purposely.

    02) I also believe some of it was instinctive.

FYI - I'm not sticking up for him here but when in that position whether it be a fight, wrestling, or football, etc,  to most of us this is almost a natural act of self defense.

As for Mr. LarryWalker, just looking at your picture I can see you doing the same thing as the little b*tch did.  Not a Pats fan but at least Mr. B*tch is out on the field playing a real sport instead of people like you beer drinking, over weight, out of shape arm chair QB b*tches.  Forgot to ask:  what team do you play for?

    Loki 211 pts

scgasque1he put his leg up to prevent Reed from taking a cheap shot like he normally does...

more evidence that Tom is a little b*tch, least he owed up to being a little b*tch this time

I'm torn on the subject, I do think he put his leg up on purpose. He's a professional athlete, if there's one thing he has, it's muscle control. What we'll never know, is if it was malicious or not. He could have been protecting for that shoulder to the head shot, it did look like it was coming. That being said, it is Brady and he has a rep, just like all the pats. Of being entitled whine bags.

Agreed! The Patriots are a bunch of whine bags. Hard to say if it was malicious or just a cheap way to protect himself against being hit. Either way - if he is that untouchable he certainly doesn't need to be playing professional football.

scgasque1what kind of retard suggests that one of the best QBs of all time shouldn't be playing football?
