Newly-hired Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is now among the highest paid coaches in the NFL – despite having zero NFL experience. This, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter that claims Kelly’s contract with the Eagles amounts to $32.5 million over five years, or $6.5 million annually.

The Eagles job will be Kelly’s first in the NFL, after serving as the head coach at the University of Oregon for the past three seasons. Widely considered to be an offensive innovator, Kelly previously worked as Oregon’s offensive coordinator after stops at the University of New Hampshire, Johns Hopkins, and Columbia University.

So what this means, Chip Kelly is now making what Nick Saban is earning at Alabama.

Love ya, Chip - the previous 4 seasons were a blast for us fans of Oregon...

Funny that the first game you coached was a thrashing for the Ducks at Boise... lost again that season to Stanford and again in the Rose to Ohio S.   It wasn't looking too good at that point.

Yet, season 2 damn near resulted in a National Championship.  Year 3 a Rose Bowl Win.  Year 4 a Fiesta Win.

Always a great deal of fun watching and rooting for Kelly's Oregon Ducks.  We'll miss ya and; as fans of birds, you know many of us will now cheer for Philadelphia!

Might want to change Kelly being the head coach at Oregon to four seasons. 2009-2012.
