Jets to hire Seahawks exec John Idzik as GM

The New York Jets will hire Seahawks exec John Idzik as their new general manager. The Jets and Idzik are still working on the details of the deal.
Idzik was identified early on as the clear front-runner for the job, so the hire doesn’t come as a surprise. Idzik worked in Seattle’s front office as a chief negotiator and salary cap manager. That’s a valuable contribution to the Jets, who have some challenging contracts to work through.
Idzik, and all Jets GM candidates, were informed that they must retain Rex Ryan for 2013.

Jets and John Idzik still working through "details" according to source but two sides finalizing deal. Idzik will be Jets GM, as expected.

There are still plenty of holes in the coaching staff, including both coordinator positions. The Jets are still conducting interviews to fill the positions, although Adam Caplan tweeted that a source said former Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg will be the Jets’ new OC.
Source said former #Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg is expected to be named #Jets OC. Interesting fit. WCO.
