Georgia Tech hires Ted Roof as defensive coordinator
After only one year with Penn State, Ted Roof has accepted a job offer from Georgia Tech.
Roof served as the head coach for Duke from 2003-2007, posting a 6-45 record. He has had more success as a defensive coordinator, with stints as the DC for the University of Minnesota and Auburn University. While at Auburn, Roof coached in two bowls games, winning the 2010 Outback Bowl and the 2011 BCS National Championship game.
Roof served one year as the defensive coordinator for Penn State. He will be returning to Georgia Tech, where he was the DC from 1999-2001. Roof also played for Georgia Tech as a linebacker from 1982-1985.
Ted Roof named Georgia Tech's DC. “He’s one of the most respected football coaches in the nation," Paul Johnson said.—
