Report: Cowboys fire DC Rob Ryan

The Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan on Tuesday, reports ESPN.com.
Ryan, 50, spent two seasons with the Cowboys after various stops in the league including Cleveland, Oakland and New England.
Ryan, the brother of New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan and son of former NFL coach Buddy Ryan, started as an NFL assistant in 1994 breaking in the with Arizona Cardinals.
The Cowboys missed the playoffs both seasons Ryan was in Dallas. The Cowboys ranked 14th in yards allowed in 2011 and 2012, while this year’s team ranked 23rd in points allowed, including 31 points a game in the team’s final two games.

Good move Jerry....should have done before the season. Now pick up the phone and call Jack Del Rio to fill the void and lets see if we can't give offensive play calling clipboard to Norv Turner. Players still got to play but may these two can put them in the right positions to succeed.

Sanchez started out his career being somewhat effective, they let him work with Bill Callahan and he loses his touch. Romo was doing pretty well and suddenly his numbers drop and I look on the sideline and who do I see? Bill Callahan.. I see a pattern, does Jerry?
Now maybe Rob Ryan can join his sibling as DC at Jets... I hear Jets are about to fire their DC Pettine anytime now.
Good move. Now if only they could hire a GM, get a new HC, get a new OC & DC, draft a RB - Murray is too injury prone, shore up its OL, draft a decent QB who would be ready to take over in 2 years' time they may actually turn the franchise around.
@bbc I totally agreed. If they could get a QB to take over in a year, that would be better. I hear Alex Smith might be someone to look at.

If Cowboys go with Smith they will have to let Romo go. I was thinking of keeping Romo for the next 2-3 years - he's not that bad a QB provided he has a decent team around him - and let the new QB take over once Romo's done.
