Seahawks sign veteran kicker Ryan Longwell

The Seattle Seahawks have signed veteran kicker Ryan Longwell according to ESPN.com’s Ed Werder.
Longwell, a 15-year NFL veteran, beat three other kickers including former Arizona Cardinals veteran Neil Rackers in a competition on Tuesday.
Longwell, who debuted in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers in 1997, last kicked for the Minnesota Vikings, making 22 of 28 field goal attempts in 2011. He has converted 83.2 percent of field goal attempts during his NFL career.
The Seahawks were in the market for a kicker after regular Steven Hauschka suffered a calf injury against the Washington Redskins in their NFC wild-card playoff game on Sunday. The team will wait until later in the week to decide whether to activate Hauschka or Longwell, or activate both kickers with Longwell handling kickoffs.
Just filed to ESPN: 15-year vet Ryan Longwell hasn't kicked this year but won tryout in Seattle and will sign with Seahawks—
