Report: Chip Kelly among five initial coaching candidates for Eagles

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said the team is initially looking to interview five candidates to replace Andy Reid, according to Howard Eskin of Fox 29 TV in Philadelphia. The list includes two college coaches and three NFL offensive coordinators: Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, Oregon coach Chip Kelly, Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.
The team appears to be focusing on its offensive strategy, and it is speculated that Kelly is the lead candidate, according to a report from USA Today:
Lurie’s saying he’s looking for an innovative coach who’s ahead of the game and knows where the league is trending. If that’s not a public plea for Kelly, we don’t know what it is.
