This time of the year, NFL executives around the league prepare for “Black Monday”, the annual day after the NFL regular season ends when dozens of coaches will receive their walking papers.
Although he has not been fired yet, Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid is reportedly interested in the San Diego Chargers job, according to CBSSports.com. There is only one problem with that: San Diego hasn’t fired their coach Norv Turner yet either.
Reid made it clear yesterday that if he is fired, he doesn’t want to take time off and wants to coach immediately.
Last month, CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora reported on Reid’s interest in the Chargers job.
“The Chargers have been near the top of their division for years and have a former Pro Bowl quarterback in his prime in Philip Rivers,” La Canfora wrote. “Reid is a native of Southern California, has a gorgeous home on the beach in the San Diego area and is known to love the area. Plus, as some close to him note, the media and fan climate in San Diego is vastly different from the cauldron that he has worked in.”
Reid has complied 130-92 in 14 seasons as the Eagles head coach, taking the team to five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl appearance.

I hope Reid ends up in san diego. he'll be successful there in a weak west division of the AFC.

LikeJust yesterday there was an article on cnnsi that Reid will probably not be fired. Is he covering his bases, or does he know something we don't?

LikeYes, Norv has not yet been fired, but the chance of him being kept on for another year is as likely as San Diego breaking off the rest of the state and falling into the sea. You heard it here first.

LikeAndy Reid to San Diego. I hear Juan Castillo is still looking for work.
Norv Turner to Cleveland. Who couldn't use a retread?
And Chip Kelly to Philadelphia? BIG TIME FAIL. You heard it here first.

LikeNeoSmith Sorry. Some other wannabe fortune tellers have already written at various points in cyberspace that Chip Kelly will fail, while others have confirmed that he will be a success. How do you people know what is going to happen in the future?

LikeFor as many chances as they gave Turner, they could easily let Andy have a run at it. He's still a quality coach...
