Eagles coach Andy Reid said quarterback Nick Foles played through a broken throwing hand in the second half of Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Redskins, likely forcing him to start Michael Vick Sunday against the Giants.

Vick has not played since suffering a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys back in Week 10. He returned to practice about a week ago.

The Eagles initially thought Foles had suffered a contusion on his right hand, leaving the rookie to decide to stay in the game. A postgame MRI revealed that Foles’ hand was fractured some time during the first half. Reid called the injury “a slight hairline fracture” on the second metatarsal.

Despite the fracture, Foles completed 32 of 48 passes for 345 yards, one touchdown and one interception for an 85.9 quarterback rating against the Redskins. Trailing by seven points late, he drove the offense to the Redskins’ 5-yard-line before committing an intentional grounding penalty that ended the game.

Foles, the team’s projected 2o13 starter, was impressive during his rookie audition. In six starts and seven regular season games, he completed 60.8 percent of his passes for an average of 6.4 yards per pass attempt. He threw six touchdowns to five interceptions and compiled a 79.1 quarterback rating.

Perfect.

Because Vick knows that he'll be looking for work next season, he'll light the Giants up.  He'll throw for 300+ yards and 2 TDs.  He'll rush for over 50 yards and make 2 or 3 critical 3rd down runs.

He'll look like the next best thing for all those QB desperate teams next season.

Raider Nation - are you listening...  Vick could turn your franchise around.  I'm tellin' ya.

LOL  ;-)
