The New York Yankees and free agent Ichiro Suzuki have been working on a contract for the past week and finally agreed on the terms.

Outfielder Suzuki hit 283/.307/.390 with 77 runs and 29 stolen bases for the Mariners and Yankees last season. Joining the Yankees seemed to rejuvenate Suzuki, hitting .322/.340/.454. The 39-year-old is 394 hits away from his 3,000th MLB hit. Because this is a two-year deal, it is possible Suzuki will make the mark while with the Yankees.

The Yankees outfield is now set, with Brett Gardner in left field, Curtis Granderson in center and Suzuki in right.
