London Fletcher: Browns stadium security, fans assaulted family members

Three relatives of Redskins linebacker London Fletcher reportedly were arrested and another family member suffered a neck injury after an altercation with Browns fans and security after Sunday’s game in Cleveland, according to a report by WEWS TV/Newsnet5.
Fletcher, a Cleveland native, told NFL.com his 13-year-old cousin was punched, family members assaulted and his aunt was hospitalized — while also accusing Cleveland Browns Stadium security staff of escalating the incident.
“I’m from Cleveland. I know Browns fans. They’re rabid fans and they love their team,” Fletcher said, “but I guess in the stadium, (my family was) being harassed. The situation that led to people being arrested was stadium security. One of the stadium security guys assaulted one of my family members. So instead of diffusing the situation, he escalated the situation.”
Nita Ashford, a relative of Fletcher and a Cleveland school teacher, told WEWS TV her family was attacked by angry Browns fans as they left Sunday’s game.
The family said Cleveland police used Tasers during the altercation that resulted in two of Fletcher’s cousins, Hasaan Robinson and Douglas Robinson, along with an 18-year-old nephew, being arrested by Tenable Security officers, according to the family.
“It’s my understanding from the moment they got out of their car, (my family members) were harassed by Brown fans and things like that, even all the way up into the stadium,” Fletcher said. “(I) had a 13-year-old cousin who was hit in the face prior to the game. … He wasn’t hurt like that, he is OK.”

London Fletcher and Garcon acted like a bunch of idiots during the game. They are lucky they didn't get nailed in the head with dog biscuits and batteries.

LikeGood thing it wasn't in SF, they would've ended up dead. Fletcher should be arrested for family abuse anyway letting his family anywhere near the mistake on the lake.

LikeSeattle Cleveland fans are pretty decent. I have been to Seattle, SF, Oakland, Baltimore and many Cleveland games. The safest is Cleveland & Baltimore, the worst SF. And Cleveland is doing just fine. Rock Hall, world class; Cleveland Museum of Art is world class, Cleveland Orchestra is #1 in USA per independent sources; Cleveland area is now a health care center of employment with huge and world class Cleveland Clinic. Update your perceptions to 2012, not 1960 when it was not as world class.

LikeNothing is surprising about this story. Cleveland fans have always had the reputation of being the rudest and most harassing in the league. They think if you're wearing the opposing teams colors, you're open game for starting a fight.

Likejweller3 Not so, we attend games all over USA, and Browns stadium is one of the safest. That incident was surely not typical.

LikeIf I was a professional Black Athlete, I would have to obtain a private booth& Body Guards for my family members and if there was no private booth available for them, I WOULD NOT LET THEM GO TO THE GAMES. THE STADIUMS ARE FULL OF DRUNK RED NECKS WHO WILL SAY & DO ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY TO BLACK FAMILY MEMBERS OF ATHLETES AND BLACKS JUST ATTENDING THE GAMES

LikeC'mon now, no need to play the race card.
I've been in many nasty environments: Philly, Madison Square Garden, Oakland, etc., and I've found that most of these drunk, fat slobs don't discriminate. If you aren't for their team, they hate you, period.
Color, gender, age don't matter.
In Philly one time, a bunch of idiots started throwing beet cans at a bus carrying (mostly white) hockey fans. And, trust me, many of the cans were not empty.
Heck, they throw snowballs at Santa Claus in Philly, and last time I checked he was white.
