Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and nose tackle Jay Ratliff engaged in a “volcanic,” “jaw-to-jaw” postgame exchange in the Cowboys locker room after last Sunday’s win over the Eagles, Mike Fisher of Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan reported.

From Fisher’s report:

“They’re both passionate men and great men and they want to win, that’s all it is,’’ one source said. “But they were in each other’s faces. People had to intervene.’’

Ratliff has missed the Cowboys’ last three games, including Sunday’s comeback 20-19 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, with a strained groin. Fisher reported that Jones approached Ratliff last Sunday in the Cowboys locker room, telling him, “We need you.” That set off Ratliff.

Ratliff has missed seven games overall this season, but has piled up 25 tackles in the six games he has played. Ratliff’s original replacement, Josh Brent, is being held in jail on $500,000 bond on charges of intoxicated manslaughter, accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal accident that led to teammate Jerry Brown’s death.

It doesn't matter this team will not get a playoff spot.  The steelers are over rated but tey are coming off a humiliating home loss and they need this win, the Boys, got lucky to win the last three.  Two home games against the Browns and the Eagles.  They were more that the other teams found ways to lose than the cowboys came up big to win.  The real team is the one that got throttled by the Skins in Turkey day.  That's your true Dallas Cowboys.  Sad, really sad.  A guy lik witten who has played his tail off for all these years and he will have nothing.  His career train is only a stop or two away from retirement station.  Murray is the same in the NFL as he was as a Sooner, can't stay healthy and on the field.  Just like Felix when they drafted him.  When is enough enough and they hire a real GM.  All this nonsense started when they won back to back in the 90's and then hired Switzer.  Switzer proved to JJ that it was him, not Jimmy Johnson, that made this team, and he's been chasing that pipe dream since.

As long as JJ plays expensive fantasy football, and as long as the national media continue to say every year that the Cowboys are a contender, or that the roster is dripping with talent, this team will be 7-9,8-8, 9-7.  They will wallow in mediocrity as they are woefully inept at the NFL level!!  Romo has the ability to put up gaudy stats, but his ability to not come through when it matters most is what he is.  Romo is Dan Marino, or, and I know this will cause a stir, Peyton Manning.  Manning lucked out in the Super Bowl and played a team coached by Lovey Smith, anyone else, even Andy Reid, and he is still searching for his ring.  Romo is that guy.  Deer in headlights when the spotlight comes on. I think Jerry is starting to realize all this and he's losing it.  So now he can blame Ratliff.

Ratliff is a fraud and he's lazy.  A groin injury for an athlete is like a back injury for a union worker, you can't prove definitively or not that they are hurt so they milk it for all it is worth, all the while collecting a pay check for being a do nothing.

hopefully a speed(ier) recovery by a fine player will obviate any further ill feelings.  Go 'skins, Go Cowboys, Go Giants, Go NFC East - where the excitement is!

Gives me a bit more respect for Jerry. Odd that this story is coming out today though.

 @BKrohnisWhiteTrash wow, you are a dreamer because  the boys looked the best they looked all yr against the steelers and I belive they will make the play off .The Cowboys  is not a team that will just give up . they know what they are up against , and the Redskins will see the real Cowboy team . when they meet this time.

 @BKrohnisWhiteTrash Dear Trash, you've just contradicted your own logic: "can't be proven definitively" implies one way or another.  Yet, you've concluded this player is a fraud.  Well, which one is it?  The man is a football player.  The beauty of pro sports is, unlike a "union worker" that can collect disability checks into perpetuity by feigning injury, his long-term employment as aprofessional ball player is based on his health and ability to perform.  So how does faking injury help him?  You should stick to what you know: burgers, fries, and possibly shakes!

 @RobLong

 Why? Do you think Ratliff is faking the injury? If so, why?
