The Ravens have fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron according to The Baltimore Sun‘s Jeff Zrebiec via Twitter:

ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reported Ravens quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell has been named offensive coordinator:

Cameron’s play-calling and approach had come into question during the Ravens’ two-game losing streak. The Sun also cited a lack of consistency with the offense and progress by quarterback Joe Flacco as reasons for the change.
The Ravens’ inability to control the ball and run the clock contributed to the Redskins’ come-from-behind 31-28 overtime win Sunday.
He recently was questioned about the lack of carries for Pro Bowl running back Ray Rice in a 23-20 loss to the Steelers. The Ravens ran just eight plays in the fourth quarter — none of which involved Rice carrying the ball. Rice avoided criticism of Cameron and the Ravens’ game plan in a post-game press conference.
The Ravens players tried so hard to support Cam Cameron. Ray Rice, I felt, really tried to be selfless for so long. But it was stil a mess—

A Ravens fan started a “Fire Cam Cameron” petition in December.
