Denver Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard will not play in tomorrow night’s AFC West matchup against the Oakland Raiders, according to an announcement by the team.

Woodyard sprained his ankle in the second quarter of the Broncos’ 31-28 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Woodyard, who is having a career year with 59 tackles, four sacks, and three interceptions in his first year as a full-time starter.

However, the Broncos have more than adequate cover in the form of veteran DJ Williams, who was the incumbent starter at the position before two suspensions ruled him out for the first nine games of the season.
