The Twins traded outfielder Ben Revere to the Phillies in exchange for right-handed pitchers Vance Worley and Trevor May, reports the Associated Press.
The Phillies were in need of a center fielder and had pursued B.J. Upton (who signed with the Braves for $75 million over five years) and expressed interest in Michael Bourn and Josh Hamilton.
Revere, 24, was a first-round pick by the Twins (28th overall) and hit .294 with 32 RBIs and 40 stolen bases in 124 games last season.
Worley, 25 , was 6-9 with a 4.20 ERA with the Phillies last season. He underwent elbow surgery in September but is expected to be ready for spring training. He went 11-3 with a 3.01 ERA as a rookie in 2011 when the Phillies won the NL East.
May, 23, was 10-13 with a 4.87 at Double-A Reading last season.
