Lakers big man Pau Gasol will not play Tuesday night against the Rockets, reports the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen via Twitter:

Gasol has dealt with injuries all season and is averaging a career-low 12.6 points per game.

There is speculation that the Lakers may be looking to trade Gasol. This is his 12th season in the league, and Gasol has $19.3 million on his contract for next year. He has seen his minutes decline since Mike D’Antoni took over as coach in November: Under Mike Brown and Bernie Bickerstaff, he averaged 37.2 minutes per game; in D’Antoni’s first six games, Gasol has played 31.8 minutes per game.

The Lakers have not announced who will replace Gasol in the lineup on Tuesday. A likely candidate could be forward Antawn Jamison, who is averaging 16.2 points per game over the past five games, including a 33-point performance against the Nuggets on Nov. 30.
