The San Diego Chargers added a new face to their receiving corps today, and it’s the same one they released a matter of weeks ago.

Micheal Spurlock was claimed off waivers by the Chargers today, according to an announcement by the team. Spurlock signed with the Chargers in the off-season and served as the team’s backup punt returner for the first four weeks of the regular season. Spurlock was released on October 3rd and signed with the Jaguars two days later.

In Jacksonville, Spurlock saw more time at wide receiver, amassing 14 receptions for 121 yards in six games with the team. Spurlock could be back returning punts for the Chargers as soon as this week if primary return man Eddie Royal misses a second consecutive game due to injury.

I don't think Spurlock would've been able to tackle Ray Rice either, so how exactly is this supposed to help the Chargers?
