Ndamukong Suh fined $30,000 for kick of Matt Schaub, says it was inadvertent
The NFL fined Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh $30,000 for his kick of Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub during a Thanksgiving day game, as first reported by MLive.com’s Anwar Richardson. It is the fifth fine of Suh’s career.
After Suh was taken to the ground, his foot swung toward Schaub and hit him in the groin. The league said on Monday that it was reviewing the play, but Suh would not be suspended.
While speaking to reporters Wednesday Suh maintained that the kick was “inadvertent” and “part of the game,” according to Detroit Free Press beat writer Dave Birkett.

Colts coach Bruce Arians, whose team is preparing to face the 4-7 Lions on Sunday, said during a conference call with reporters that he did not think Suh’s kick was intentional. “He plays the way the game’s supposed to be played,” Arians said.
