Matt Schaub: Ndamukong Suh ‘Not Houston Texan worthy’

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has come out firmly against Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in a recent interview, slamming the player who kicked him in the groin in the Texans’ Thanksgiving Day win over the Lions.

“You don’t want a player like that,” Schaub told Houston’s Sports Radio 610 AM. “The stuff that he stands for and the type of player he is, that’s not Houston Texan worthy. That’s not what we’re about as a football team, as individuals, as collectively as a group. We’re not that type of person.”

Suh has been named the NFL’s dirtiest player in a slew of polls, and will likely face NFL discipline for the incident with Schaub.

Your right Matt Schaub, I didn't see any Texans kick anybody, intentionally or otherwise in the nuts. I did watch a Texan take the head off Stephan Logan BEFORE he caught a kick. I did see a downed player jump up and score a touchdown, then spout about it because it was good, play to the whistle football. I heard a coach reinforce the play of the downed player, a really classy move. And I saw THREE Texan defenders hit a sliding quarterback, with two of them hitting Stafford helmet to helmet well after the slide. there was no flag on the play, or any media attention paid to that oddly enough. I'd say the Texans have their share of cleanup to do on their squad before they talk about being worthy of being a Texan...

I wonder why Footlocker hasn't signed him as their spokesperson? Suh is the ideal role model.

Not defending Suh but, along with Pat Kerwin and Tim Ryan on Sirius NFL Radio, if Suh did that intentionally, he should have the nickname "Jet Lee" cause that was one helluva placed shot.  But let's not get too hyped up with the shot to the peanuts, you can't tell me that over 50% of all plays, specially in a pile, there isn't nut grabbing or punching in some shape or fashion.  It goes along with eye poking too.  Football is a dirty game, can't deny it.  Do we remember Brian Robinson (Vikings) that kicked T.J. Lang (Packers) square in the junk....that was intentional.  Watching the Suh play, he was being drug to the ground, I saw him reach out with his foot, probably with intent to "kick" at Schaub and accidentally kicked him in the groin, that happened.  Not a well placed square kick in the sack like Brian Robinson's kick......just sayin'

"He's not Texan worthy...We're not that type of person." Fine.

But it's perfectly fine to get up after you've been tackled to the turf, pretending that you weren't down, and then scamper for a touchdown. Or to blast your facemask into the quarterback's face. Those are both the Texan way.

Quit pretending you're holier than thou. Your team does all that it can to win, and it takes what it can get away with.

Man there a lot of stupid people in the world.  How can you defend kicking someone in the groin?

Defensive players should be "dirty". Its only a problem if you get caught... too much.

I think that kick to the nuts shot was an accident but I do think Suh lets roid rage get the better of him.  He should try HGH instead! : P

They seem to like him in Detroit.

This is about what Suh did on Thanksgiving, not about the incidents that you cited. Maybe if Suh had kicked you in the groin or stomped on you while you were lying defenseless on the ground, you wouldn't be so cavalier about his dirty play. Honestly, do you really blame Schaub for being upset? Until you've been kicked in the groin by a 300 lb. NFL defensive lineman, you don't have much credibility if you answer that with a "yes."

Suh is a bum and disgrace to the game.  To kick someone in the stones says alot about his character

@DZ3 Football?  That's a joke right?  No, intentionally kicking someone in the groin is not NFL football.  But then again, maybe it is in Detroit.

"The Texan way" has to be about more than just Thanksgiving weekend. Their issues are as much a part of the Texan way as what Schaub says disqualifies Suh. but if ya want to make it about Thanksgiving game, then there are lots of examples of dirty play.... like celebrating a touchdown scored by a player who was clearly on the ground... and as far as the kick... if he had really kicked, Schaub wouldn't have gotten up.
