The NFL will suspend Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting cornerback Eric Wright for four games for violation of the league’s performance enhancing drug policy, Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said Monday.

Wright’s suspension is for the use of Adderall, a drug used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Wright’s four-game suspension will cost him $1,705,882 in base salary. Wright started the first 10 games this season but missed the Bucs’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons with a sore Achilles tendon. Wright has 39 tackles and one interception this season.

The Buccaneers (6-5) next four opponents are Denver, Philadelphia, New Orleans and St. Louis. Wright isĀ eligible to return for Tampa Bay’s final game at Atlanta.
