Rex Ryan holds confusing conference call following Jets ‘nightmare’ loss

Jets coach Rex Ryan followed up a “nightmare” of a 49-19 loss to the Patriots Thursday night with a somewhat confusing press conference call Friday morning.
Ryan revealed he didn’t know quarterback Tim Tebow had two fractured ribs until Wednesday of this week, 10 days after Tebow claims he initially suffered the injury in a loss to the Seahawks. Tebow was dressed for the Patriots game but did not play a snap.
Ryan’s statement that the Jets offense is improving and his handling of others questions left many members of the media shaking their heads as to just what his answers meant:
Jets writer after Rex's conference call today —-> RT @KMart_LI: i literally have no idea where to begin…that was a step below insanity.—

On a conference call, it is impossible to tell if Rex Ryan was wearing a tinfoil hat.—

We're in an alternate universe with #NYJ: Bart Scott should have played more, offensive improving, Tebow couldn't play but could have. Huh?—

RT @JPPelzman: The Dr. Seuss stories my Mom read me as a kid made more sense than that Rex conference call.—

RT @MMehtaNYDN: Rex on Tebow: "He absolutely 100% could have played in that game." … That is one wacky press conference. Very Rexy.—

Ryan said he spoke briefly with Jets owner Woody Johnson, who left USA Today reporter Mike Garafalo confused during a postgame enounter:
Johnson realized it was a reporter asking for his reaction. So he gave it. Sort of.
“Grrrrr-mmmph-aarrggh!” he said and walked behind a screen, away from a gathering crowd of media
