Taj Gibson, Bulls agree to four-year, $38 million extension

Taj Gibson has reversed course and agreed to an extension with the Chicago Bulls. The Chicago Tribune’s K.C. Johnson reported the news via Twitter following the Bulls’ 93-87 win over the Sacramento Kings on opening night.

“I looked at the numbers and that’s a lot of money, especially the security,” Gibson told the Chicago Tribune.

Gibson was a valuable contributor on last season’s Bulls team, averaging a career-best .495 field goal percentage while mostly coming off the bench in relief of Carlos Boozer. Gibson has said that he wants to retire as a Chicago Bull, and the respect appears to be mutual between player and team.
