Report: Andre Ethier trade ‘not happening’

Rumors of the Dodgers trading Andre Ethier are “short-lived,” according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
“Not happening,” says a person familiar with the Dodgers’ thinking.
ESPN’s Buster Olney tweeted the possibility of a trade involving Ethier and unloading his contract.
Sources: Dodgers are open to the idea of dealing Andre Ethier. He signed a five-year, $85 million contract during the season.—

However, two people familiar with the Dodgers’ thinking shot it down Tuesday. A trade for Ethier would be a little unusual in that Ethier was just signed to an $85 million, five-year extension by the Dodgers.
Ethier hit .284 with 20 home runs and 89 RBI this season and could give the Dodgers a fourth quality outfielder with Matt Kemp, Carl Crawford and possibly Shane Victorino.
