Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray not likely to play against the Giants
Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray will likely not play in Sunday’s NFC East showdown against the New York Giants because of a foot injury, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
“Hopefully he’s just progressing,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said. “He’s moving around better. He’s in the meetings and we’ll just see where he is. I don’t anticipate him practicing today. We’ll just see where he is moving forward.”
But in answering a question about Murray walking on crutches to avoid putting weight on the foot, Garrett all but confirmed his absence for Sunday’s game against the Giants. “Oh, I think we’re just being very careful about any weight that we’re putting on him,” Garrett said. “The more time we give him the better.”
Murray suffered a sprained foot in the Cowboys’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago. Backup Felix Jones did not practice on Wednesday because of a bone bruise.
