The Florida State Seminoles will play the rest of the season without their starting running back, Head Coach Jimbo Fisher announced today. Chris Thompson suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of Florida State’s game against Miami on Saturday night and did not return to the game. Subsequent tests revealed that Thompson tore his ACL in the knee.

The injury effectively ends Thompson’s career in college football. The senior missed most of last season with broken vertebrae, but came back strong to lead his team with 687 rushing yards this season, in addition to 248 yards receiving.
