Jets coach Rex Ryan told the New York Daily News that playing Tim Tebow at running back was “a possibility” against the Patriots on Sunday.

“By playing quarterback, he knows all the positions,” said Ryan. So can you plug him in at running back? Can you plug him in at tight end? I think the answer is yes.”

Ryan added that the backup quarterback’s skill set was based on power rather than speed and called him a “jack-of-all-trades.” Tebow has lined up at running back this season but only as a blocker.

The Jets have suffered a number of injuries to the backfield, including running backs Bilal Powell, out with a dislocated shoulder, and Joe McKnight, who has a high ankle sprain.
