Michael Vick to remain Eagles’ starting quarterback, according to report

Uncategorized

Michael Vick will keep his job as the Philadelphia Eagles’ starting quarterback — for now.

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported Thursday night that Vick will remain as the starting quarterback following the team’s bye week. Also, McLane reported that offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg will stay put as the team’s play-caller.

For now, it appears that Eagles head coach Andy Reid will spare his offensive stalwarts the same fate as defensive coordinator Juan Castillo, who was fired this week.

But frustration with Vick among the Eagles fan base has continued to build as he struggles through a season plagued by turnovers and key missteps. Vick sits behind only Dallas Cowboys’ starter Tony Romo in the NFC with eight interceptions already this season. And Vick has also lost three fumbles.

Mornhinweg’s offense, meanwhile, is 31st in the NFL in scoring. The Eagles sit at 3-3 heading into a highly anticipated home matchup with the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.

OF COURSE he should be the starting QB - the reason the Eagles have struggled has been eliminated when Castillo was fired.  The DC was clearly the cause of 13 turnovers in 6 games - BY THE QB!

It is painfully apparent that Jeffrey Lurie is a eunuch. There could be no other reason for his trepidation in firing this lard-ass who has done nothing in the last half dozen years, if not the lat full dozen years, to justify his retention as head coach. Shame on you, Jeffrey. Before you bought the Eagles, you were bent on buying the Patriots. Fans all over New England are heaving a sigh of relief that Bob Kraft beat you to it. He and Belichick created a dynasty; you and Reid have created a laughingstock. As much as I despise owners like Jerry Jones and Daniel Snyder, they are twice the businessman and franchise owner you are. Oh, and lest you forget, the rest of the NFC East is 11-0 versus the Eagles in Lombardi Trophies. If that one salient little fact doesn't bang you right in the nuts and sting like hell, I question whether you possess a heart or nuts. If you aren't willing to take charge after 14 years, go back to making bad movies or whatever venture your silly family bankrolled you to do before you decided to take up being an NFL owner as a hobby.

I wonder sometimes if Michael Vick's style is compatible with what the Eagles is trying to do? I have asked myself that over and over again because he plays like he forgot who he is and how to do his job.
