Chris Iannetta, Angels agree to extension





The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim wasted no time making moves on the first day of their off-season, resigning catcher Chris Iannetta to a contract extension, according ot a tweet from the Los Angeles Times’ Mike DiGiovanna.

Traded to the Angels from the Colorado Rockies in the previous offseason, Iannetta hit .240 this season along with a .332 on base percentage in his first year in Anaheim. He added 26 RBIs and nine home runs for the Angels, who finished 89-73 and missed the playoffs after finishing five games back of the Texas Rangers, who locked up the second AL wild card spot.
