The Miami Dolphins today attempted to shore up a struggling receiver corps by signing veteran Jabar Gaffney and releasing Legedu Naanee, The Miami Herald reports.
Naanee’s early struggles have included a crucial turnover in Sunday’s loss at Arizona. He had the one catch for 19 yards so far in 2012.
Gaffney worked out for the Dolphins and other teams during the preseason but remained unsigned since recording a career high of 68 receptions and 947 receiving yards, and scoring five touchdowns with the Washington Redskins last season.
He has caught 443 passes for 5,622 yards and 24 touchdowns in 155 career NFL games.
